Jared Allen will remain in the NFC North Division for the 2014 NFL season, but he will no longer be a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
The 31-year-old four-time All-Pro pass rusher signed a 4-year $32 million contract with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday morning.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the contract includes $15.5 million in fully guaranteed money.
The Bears were in desperate need of a pass rusher after losing former standout Julius Peppers to the Green Bay Packers this offseason.
In Allen, the Bears receive the NFL’s 12th-greatest sack artist of all-time, as Jared currently has 128.5 career sacks to his credit.
Allen’s production numbers dropped during his 2013 season with the Vikings, but he is still an above-average pass rusher, which is hard to find in the NFL.
