UFC officials announced today that a middleweight bout between Uriah Hall (8-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and Thiago “Marreta” Santos (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is the latest addition to July’s UFC 175 event in Las Vegas.
Uriah Hall was last seen in action at December’s UFC 168 event, where he earned a first-round TKO victory over Chris Leben. The win marked the 29-year-olds first inside the octagon, as he had previously suffered back-to-back defeats to Kevin Gastelum and John Howard respectively.
Meanwhile, Thiago Santos recently scored a massive upset-win over the heavily favored Ronny Markes at March’s ‘UFC Fight Night 38’ event in Brazil. The 53-second TKO victory over Markes served as Santos’ first career UFC win. Prior to that bout, “Marreta” had suffered a submission loss to Cezar Ferreira in his UFC debut.
UFC 175 is headlined by a middleweight title fight between rating champ Chris Weidman and challenger Lyoto Machida. The event takes place July 5 live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view, following the prelims which air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Be sure to come watch UFC 175 live at one of Kauai’s Kalapaki Joe’s locations this July! Reservations for tables of 8 or more are recommended and can be made online.
