Kalapaki Joe’s own Jody Valente will be joining friend and sponsored UFC fighter Patrick Cote in his efforts to make the welterweight limit of 170-pounds prior to “The Predator’s” UFC 178 bout with Stephen Thompson this September.

While Jody won’t be training with Patrick directly, he will be undergoing the necessary training to make the UFC’s welterweight limit of 170 pounds.

Jody’s partner in crime, Patrick Cote, will be preparing for the figtht back in his home country of Canada, this before heading to Las Vegas for the September 27 contest.

The former middleweight title challenger, Patrick Cote (20-8 MMA, 7-8 UFC), was announced to fight fellow Canadian Stephen Thompson (9-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC)  earlier this summer.

Cote has won his past 3 octagon appearances, his most recent being a decision win over Kyle Noke at April’s “TUF Nations Finale” event in Quebec City, Canada.

Meanwhile, after suffering a loss to Matt Brown in April of 2012, Stephen Thompson has since won 3 straight octagon appearances. “Wonderboy’s” most recent effort saw him defeat Robert Whittaker via first-round TKO at February’s UFC 170 event in Las Vegas.

Be sure to follow both Patrick and Jody’s progress as they put their bodies through the paces on route to the UFC’s welterweight limit.
