A heavyweight slugfest featuring Travis Browne and Brendan Schaub will take place at December’s UFC 181 event in Las Vegas.

Hawaii native Travis Browne was most recently seen in action at the ‘UFC on FOX 11’ event, where he lost a lopsided decision to now title challenger Fabricio Werdum. Prior to the setback, Browne had reeled off 3 straight knockout wins over opponents Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett.

Meanwhile, Brendan Schaub’s latest octagon appearance saw him drop a razor-close split-decision to former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski at June’s UFC 174 event in Vancouver. Prior to the loss, Schaub had notched back-to-back wins over Matt Mitrione and Lavar Johnson.

UFC 181 takes place December 6 live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a middleweight title fight featuring Chris Weidman defending his belt against former UFC title holder Vitor Belfort.
