A key featherweight bout will headline November’s ‘UFC Fight Night 57’ event in Austin, Texas.

UFC officials announced yesterday that former lightweight champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar (17-4-1 MMA, 11-4-1 UFC) will face perennial contender Cub Swanson (21-5 MMA, 6-1 UFC) in the evenings main event.

Frankie Edgar was last seen in action in the main event of July’s “TUF 19 Finale” in Las Vegas, where he defeated MMA legend B.J. Penn via third-round TKO. The victory marked Frankie’s second-straight win, this after falling short in 3 consecutive championship bouts across 2 divisions.

Meanwhile, Cub Swanson will be looking to stretch his already impressive win streak to seven when he faces “The Answer” this fall. Swanson most recently defeated Jeremy Stephens via unanimous decision in the main event of UFC Fight Night 44 this past June. Prior to that victory, Cub was coming off a TKO win over Dennis Siver which occurred at UFC 162.

The winner of this featherweight tilt will likely get the next shot at the UFC’s coveted featherweight strap.

UFC Fight Night 57 takes place November 22 live from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The events main card will air live on FOX Sports 1.
