There is no denying that wide receiver Percy Harvin has the skill set to be one of the best offensive weapons in the National Football League.
That’s why it came as such a huge surprise when fans and media learned that Percy had been traded by the Seattle Seahawks to the New York Jets this past weekend.
Apparently Harvin, who was instrumental in Seattle’s Super Bowl Championship win last season, was far from a ‘good’ teammate during his time with the Seahawks.
According to reports, Harvin was involved in a fist fight with former Hawk’s receiver Golden Tate just days prior to the teams Super Bowl victory last season.
The fight left Golden Tate with a black eye and apparently involved Harvin body slamming his teammate through a table.
In addition to that, Harvin also engaged in an altercation with Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin this preseason, which left #89 with a cut under his chin.
Combine that with the widespread reports that Harvin was a locker room cancer during his 2 years spent with the Minnesota Vikings and maybe the decision to pick-up Percy will be one that the New York Jets soon regret.
That said, if Jets coach Rex Ryan can keep Percy under control, he now has one of the league’s most formidable weapons to work with.
