The Seattle Seahawks will invade Arizona this weekend to battle the Cardinals in Week 16’s edition of Sunday Night Football.

With a victory on Sunday night, the Seattle Seahawks (10-4) would leap frog the Arizona Cardinals (11-3) to take over top spot in the tough NFC West Division.

The Seahawks look to have returned to the form that saw them win the Vince Lombardi Trophy last season.

Seattle has won their last 4 games and covered the spread in all four of those performances.

Ever since the return of linebacker Billy Wagner, the Seahawks defense has looked unstoppable.

In their last 4 games, Seattle’s defense has allowed just 27 points!

That number (27-points in 4 games) is especially impressive considering that Seattle has played the Eagles, 49ers (twice) and Cardinals in their past 4 outings.

Seattle’s stellar play on defense has taken the heat off of quarterback Russell Wilson, who in turn has played his best football of the season in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals will look to build on their current 2-game win streak when they take on their rivals this Sunday night.

Arizona has gone 3-2 since losing starting quarterback Carson Palmer to a season ending injury in early November.

With that said, Palmer’s replacement, Drew Stanton, also suffered a season ending knee injury last Thursday against St. Louis.

That means Arizona will have to rely on third string quarterback Ryan Lindley against the Seahawks defense (good luck).

The Cardinals will need another solid performance from their defense if they hope to keep this game close.

In their past 2 games, the Cards D has allowed just 20 points.

Las Vegas currently has Seattle pegged as -7.5 point favorites, with the over/under being set at 36.5 points.

This game is critical for both teams, but I just can’t imagine a way that Arizona beats Seattle.

My prediction is that the Seahawks will defeat the Cardinals by a final score of 20-9 on Sunday Night.
