Once again, an injury has forced Chris Weidman out of his scheduled UFC title defense against former champion Vitor Belfort.
UFC officials announced the news earlier this week, citing a rib injury as the reason for the fight’s cancellation.
This marks the third time that the proposed fight between Weidman and Belfort has been forced to be rescheduled.
With the news, February’s UFC 184 event in Los Angeles will now be headlined by a women’s bantamweight championship fight featuring current title holder Ronda Rousey taking on number one contender Cat Zingano.
UFC officials are hopeful that the Weidman vs. Belfort title fight will now take place in May of 2015.
