A key lightweight bout has been added to July’s UFC on FOX 16 event in Chicago, as UFC officials recently announced that former UFC lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis will take on Myles “Fury” Jury on the evenings main card.
Anthony Pettis (18-3 MMA) will return to action for the first time following his UFC 185 title loss to Rafael dos Anjos. That loss snapped a five-fight win streak for the former champion, which included victories over Donald Cerrone, Joe Lauzon, Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez.
Meanwhile, Myles Jury (15-1 MMA) will also be looking to rebound when he faces “Showtime” this July in Chi-town. “Fury” suffered the first loss of his career to Donald Cerrone at January’s UFC 182 event in Las Vegas. Prior to the loss, Jury had reeled off 15-straight victories including 6 wins which occurred inside the UFC’s octagon.
UFC on FOX 16 takes place July 25 live from the United Center in Chicago. The event is headlined by a bantamweight title fight rematch featuring current title holder T.J. Dillashaw taking on former champion Renan Barao.
