The Vancouver Canucks avoided elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by playing their best game of the series against the Calgary Flames yesterday evening.

The Canucks came back from a 1-0 deficit on Thursday night and ended up defeating Calgary by a final score of 2-1.

Daniel Sedin scored Vancouver’s second goal just over a minute in to the game’s third period and goaltender Ryan Miller took care of the rest.

Now trailing in the series 3 games to 2, the Canucks will have to score back-to-back wins over the Flames if they hope to continue on in this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Calgary will return home for game six this Saturday night with hopes of advancing to the NHL playoffs second-round for the first time in over 10 years.
