The Tampa Bay Lightning have advanced to this year’s NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Final, this after defeating the Montreal Canadiens by a final score of 4-1 on Tuesday night.

The Bolts played their most complete game of the series in game six, frustrating the Habs with a stellar defensive performance.

Tampa Bay sniper Steven Stamkos scored his third goal of the playoffs, which turned out to be the game winner, just minutes in to yesterday’s second period.

The Lightning will now face the winner of the New York Rangers vs. Washington Capitals series, which is currently knotted up at three games apiece.

Game 7 between the Caps and Rangers takes place tonight at Madison Square Garden at 7:30pm EST.

With the win, Tampa Bay will advance to the NHL’s Eastern Conference Final for the first time since 2011.
