Manziel helps Browns snap seven-game losing streak!

Johnny Manziel helped the Cleveland Browns (3-10) snap a seven-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon, as he led the struggling Ohio squad to a 24-10 home victory over the San Francisco 49ers (4-9).

The second-year quarterback had a strong game against the 49ers yesterday in Cleveland, completing 21 of 31 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown.

Manziel also carried the ball seven times for a total of 15 yards.

“JFF” will be in tough next week when his Browns head to Seattle to take on the surging Seahawks.

Cleveland’s final two games of the season come against Kansas City on the road and at home against division rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While Manziel will be hard-pressed to win any of his remaining three starts, he has proven to be more successful than his fellow Browns quarterbacks, who have gone 1-8 when starting under center in 2015.

Johnny is now 2-1 as a starting quarterback this season and has definitely given Browns fans hope for the future.

It’s officially “Johnny Football” time in Cleveland!

The Browns management announced today the Johnny Manziel will be the team’s starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

The move makes plenty of sense, as Cleveland currently sits in the AFC North basement with a record of 2-8.

Handing the keys over to Johnny Manziel for the remainder of the 2015 season will allow the Browns coaching staff to see if “JFF” is truly a viable option under center for the future.

Manziel is coming off a fine performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which saw him throw for 372 yards and a touchdown.

Head coach Mike Pettine had this to say about the decision to name Manziel the team’s starting QB:

“He deserves this opportunity.”

The Browns will play host to division rivals the Baltimore Ravens (2-7) next Monday night (November 30) in Cleveland.

Browns vs. Bengals Thursday Night Football Preview

Browns vs. Bengals Thursday Night Football Preview

The Cleveland Browns (2-6) will head south to battle their state and division rivals the Cincinnati Bengals (7-0) in Week 9’s edition of Thursday Night Football.

Cincinnati enters Thursday night’s game on the heels of a key divisional road victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, which barring a miracle, has basically secured the Bengals the NFC North title.

Last season, the Bengals won on the road the Sunday before a Thursday night game, only to come home and receive a 24-3 thrashing at the hands of the Browns.

The Bengals turned the ball over 4 times during that 2014 home loss to Cleveland and looked unprepared on both sides of the ball.

Will this year’s undefeated Bengals squad suffer the same fate? Unlikely.

Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton has looked solid this season, completing 153 of 231 passes for 1992 yards and 15 touchdowns against just 4 interceptions.

The Bengals defense has been equally as impressive, allowing just 20.4 points per game through their first seven outings.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns will be looking to play spoiler when they invade Paul Brown Stadium on Thursday night.

The Browns will turn to second-year quarterback Johnny Manziel for Thursday Night’s primetime matchup.

“Johnny Football” won his last start, leading the Browns to a 28-14 home victory over the Tennessee Titans in September.

However, when Manziel started against the Bengals last season, he suffered an embarrassing 30-0 home loss to their Ohio State rivals.

Manziel has found solid chemistry with wideout Travis Benjamin this season. The pair hooked up for two 50+ yard touchdown scores against the Titans.

On defense the Browns have struggled to find their identity. Cleveland was expected to have one of the league’s better defensive units this offseason, but that has not been the case.

Cleveland does have a very talented secondary, which will need to step and force turnovers if the team hopes to upset the heavily favored Bengals.

Las Vegas currently has Cincinnati pegged as -12.5 point favorites, with the over/under set at 45.5 points.

I predict that the Bengals will win this game by a final score of 27-16.

The Cleveland Browns (2-6) will travel south to battle the NFC North leading Cincinnati Bengals (7-0) in Week 9’s edition of Thursday night football.

The Brownies will turn to second-year quarterback Johnny Manziel for Thursday night’s game, as veteran starter Josh McCown has been sidelined with a rib injury.

It’s a tough situation for “Johnny Football”, who will have only two days to prepare for one of the league’s best teams in Cincinnati.

Manziel has started against the Bengals once before, suffering a 30-0 blowout loss last December.

Signs definitely point to another ugly showing for Cleveland, but who knows, maybe “Money Manziel” has some tricks up his sleeve for Thursday night.
