UFC 230: Daniel Cormier vs. Derrick Lewis Fight Card

UFC 230: Daniel Cormier vs. Derrick Lewis Fight Card

The octagon will return to Madison Square Garden Arena next month for the promotions UFC 230: Daniel Cormier vs. Derrick Lewis pay-per-view event.

The UFC 230 fight card, which takes place November 3 in New York City, is headlined by a heavyweight title fight featuring reigning champion Daniel Cormier taking on surging division contender Derrick Lewis.

The fight card was originally slated to feature Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier as it’s co-headliner. Unfortunately for fight fans however, “The Diamond” was forced to withdraw from the contest due to a hip injury.

Dustin Poirier, Nate Diaz

Following the removal of Diaz vs. Poirier from UFC 230, the promotion announced that a rematch between former UFC middleweight champions Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold would now serve as the evenings co-main event.

That announcement did not last long, as shortly after news broke that Luke Rockhold had suffered an injury and would no longer be able to compete against Weidman on November 3.

With that being said, the promotion was then forced to pull Jacare Souza from his scheduled bout with David Branch, and move the Brazilian into the co-main event of UFC 230 opposite Chris Weidman.

Jared Cannonier is now expected to replace Jacare Souza against David Branch at Madison Square Garden (Update: Branch vs. Cannonier is now official).

UFC 229 Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov Full Fight Video

UFC 229 Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov Full Fight Video

Khabib Nurmagomedov improved his professional mixed martial arts record to a perfect 27-0 earlier this month at UFC 229, submitting Conor McGregor in round four of their event headlining matchup.

Now just two weeks removed from arguably the biggest fight in promotional history, FOX Sports Italia has released the entire Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov fight from UFC 229.

Almost immediately following his stoppage loss to “The Eagle” at UFC 229, Conor McGregor announced that he was “looking forward” to an immediate rematch with the undefeated Russian.

With that said, UFC President Dana White seems to have other ideas. The brash UFC boss recently stated that the promotion intends to have Tony Ferguson be the next man to challenge Khabib Nurmgagomedov for his lightweight title.

In most recent news, Anderson Silva accepted a former challenge laid out by Conor McGregor and said he would fight the Irish superstar at 180-pounds.

UFC Moncton: Volkan Oezdemir vs. Anthony Smith Fight Card

UFC Moncton: Volkan Oezdemir vs. Anthony Smith Fight Card

The octagon will make its debut in Moncton, New Brunswick on October 27 for the promotions UFC Fight Night 138: Volkan Oezdemir vs. Anthony Smith event.

The fight card is headlined by a key light heavyweight matchup featuring former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir taking on surging contender Anthony Smith.

Volkan Oezdemir was last seen in action at January’s UFC 220 event in Boston, where he suffered a second-round TKO loss to current UFC “champ champ” Daniel Cormier.

Prior to the setback, “No Time” had put together a five-fight win streak which saw him earn impressive stoppage victories over Misha Cirkunov and Jimi Manuwa.

Meanwhile, Anthony Smith has gone 2-0 since moving up to light heavyweight. “Lionheart” has scored first-round finishes over former division champions Rashad Evans and Mauricio Rua during that stretch.

In the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 138, featherweights Artem Lobov and Michael Johnson will collide in hopes of moving up the 145-pound ranks.

“The Russian Hammer” was initially slated to face Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teammate Zubaira Tukhugov (18-4 MMA) at UFC Moncton. However, the promotion pulled Tukhugov off of the fight card shortly following the Russians involvement in UFC 229’s now infamous post fight brawl.

Artem Lobov has not competed inside the cage since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Andre Fili at last October’s UFC Fight Night 118 event in Poland.

“The Russian Hammer” will enter the contest having dropped four of his past six fights. Lobov’s most recent victory came at UFC Fight Night 99 in Ireland where he defeated Teruto Ishihara via unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Michael Johnson was last seen in action at August’s UFC Fight Night 135 event where he scored a split-decision victory over Andre Fili.

That victory snapped a three fight losing skid for “The Menace”, as Johnson has previously suffered defeats to Khabib Nurmagomedov, Darren Elkins and Justin Gaethje respectively.
