Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano moved to UFC 184 in LA

The UFC women’s bantamweight championship bout between title holder Ronda Rousey and number one contender Cat Zingano has shifted from January’s UFC 182 event in Las Vegas to February’s UFC 184 event in Los Angeles.

UFC officials announced the change earlier today, however no reason for the switch was given.

Ronda Rousey (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) was last seen in action at July’s UFC 175 event in Las Vegas, where she mauled her opponent Alexis Davis in just 16-seconds to earn the knockout victory. Prior to that, “Rowdy” was coming off a first-round stoppage win over former Olympian Sara McMann.

Meanwhile, Cat Zingano solidified her number one contender status at September’s UFC 178 event in Las Vegas by defeating Amanda Nunes via third-round TKO. Prior to that, Cat had been sidelined by a knee injury, which was followed by the unfortunate death of her spouse, who committed suicide.

UFC 184 takes place February 28 live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center. The pay-per-view event is headlined by a middleweight title fight between current champion Chris Weidman and number one contender Vitor Belfort.

Donald Cerrone vs. Myles Jury targeted for UFC Fight Night 59‏

Donald Cerrone vs. Myles Jury targeted for UFC Fight Night 59‏

By: Chris Taylor

A key lightweight battle is expected to co-headline January’s ‘UFC Fight Night 59’ event in Boston, as UFC officials recently announced that they are targeting a match between surging lightweight contenders Donald Cerrone and Myles Jury.

Donald Cerrone (25-6 MMA, 12-3 UFC) is currently riding a five-fight win streak, with four of those five victories coming by form of stoppage. “Cowboy’s” most recent effort saw him score a unanimous decision win over former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez at September’s UFC 178 event in Las Vegas. Cerrone has earned “Performance of the night” bonuses in 4 of his past 5 octagon appearances.

Meanwhile, Myles Jury (15-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) will be looking to make a statement when he faces “Cowboy” this January in Boston. “Fury” has gone a perfect 6-0 inside the octagon, with his most recent win coming over former Pride champion Takanori Gomi via first-round TKO at September’s UFC Fight Night event in Japan. Prior to that win, Jury disposed of Diego Sanchez via a lopsided unanimous decision at March’s UFC 171 event in Dallas, Texas.

UFC Fight Night 59 takes place January 18th live from Boston’s TD Garden. The event is headlined by a featherweight fight featuring Conor McGregor taking on Dennis Siver and is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
