Browns at Bengals Thursday Night Football Preview‏

Browns at Bengals Thursday Night Football Preview‏

By: Chris Taylor (Kalapaki Joe’s Staff Writer)

The Cleveland Browns (5-3) will invade Cincinnati to battle the Bengals in this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football.

The Cincinnati Bengals (5-2-1) are currently leading the always tough AFC North Division.

All four teams in the AFC North have winning records, making it arguably the toughest division in Football.

Cincinnati has made the playoffs in 4 of their past 5 seasons and have not suffered a regular season home loss since 2012.

The Bengals defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9 by a final score of 33-23.

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton played well against the Jags, completing 19 of 31 passes for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Dalton had been struggling in previous weeks, but with receiver A.J. Green returning to the line-up, things are definitely looking good for Cincy’s offense.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are looking to make a statement by winning the battle of Ohio on Thursday evening.

Cleveland is coming off a Week 9 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who they defeated by a final score of 22-17.

The Browns have proven to be a solid team in 2014, scoring victories over the 6-win Pittsburgh Steelers and always tough New Orleans Saints.

Bryan Hoyer remains the starting quarterback in Cleveland, playing just well enough to keep his job through 9 weeks.

Cleveland has used a solid run game featuring 3 different running-backs to confuse opposing defenses and open up their play action attack thus far this season.

Las Vegas currently has the Bengals pegged as -6.5 point favorites, with the over/under set for 43.5 points.

I believe the Browns will keep it close on Thursday night, but will ultimately fall short by a final score of 24-20.

Kalapaki Joe’s sponsored fighter Rory MacDonald will compete later this month at the Metamoris 5 event, where he will face off with Jonathan Torres.

Here is a preview of their sure to be epic submission match:

Rory MacDonald was last seen in action at October’s UFC Fight Night 54 event in Halifax, where he scored a third-round TKO victory over former Strikeforce welterweight champion Tarec Saffiedine.

That victory earned “Ares” a UFC welterweight title shot against the winner of next month’s title fight rematch between champ Johny Hendricks and challenger Robbie Lawler.

The Metamoris 5 event takes place Saturday November 22 and can be seen live on pay-per-view.
