Shortly after news broke that Robbie Lawler had suffered a thumb injury which would force him out of his UFC 193 headlining bout with Carlos Condit, UFC president Dana White took to ESPN’s Sports Center to announce that a women’s bantamweight championship fight between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm would now headline the November event (UFC 193).

Ronda Rousey (12-0 MMA) is coming off a first-round knockout victory over the previously undefeated Bethe Correia, which took place in the headlining bout of this month’s UFC 190 event. “Rowdy” has now won her last three fights in an astonishing combined time of 64-seconds. The only opponent to ever get out of the first-round with Ronda Rousey was the aforementioned Miesha Tate, who suffered a third-round submission loss to “Rowdy” in the pairs second encounter at UFC 168.

Rousey now meets former Boxing world champion Holly Holm (9-0 MMA), who has gone 2-0 since joining the UFC ranks. “The Preacher’s Daughter” was last seen in action at July’s UFC Fight Night 71 event, where she earned a unanimous decision victory over Marion Reneau. Six of Holm’s nine career mixed martial arts victories have come by way of knockout.

UFC 193 goes down November 15 live from Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
