Former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson was cut loose by the Minnesota Vikings this past February, thus becoming a free agent.

After speaking with numerous teams, including the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks, “All Day” opted to sign on with the NFC South New Orleans Saints.

Today, Peterson spoke about how excited he is to play behind legendary quarterback Drew Brees and how he feels about playing his former team, the Minnesota Vikings, in Week 1 of this year’s NFL Regular Season.

“Envisioning myself in the backfield with Drew Brees it was like ‘Wow, what will opposing teams do?'”

As for playing his long-time team the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1, Peterson says it was just meant to be.

“It was meant to be.”

Peterson and the New Orleans Saints will invade Minnesota for Monday Night Football on September 11.

Minnesota Vikings release former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson

The Minnesota Vikings have decided to part ways with former NFL MVP and legendary team running back Adrian Peterson.

“All-Day” was due to count for an $18 million hit against the Vikings salary cap in 2017, which would have been twice as much as any other running back in the NFL.

The seven-time Pro Bowler and 2012 league MVP, Peterson, spent 10 years with the Minnesota Vikings where he established himself as one of the greatest running backs of all-time.

In ten season with the Vikings, Peterson played 123 games rushing for 11,747 total yards and 102 touchdowns scored.

With that said, Peterson could still end up back in Minnesota, this if he doesn’t field any better offers from other organizations.

Teams apparently considering going after Peterson include the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders.

Jon Jones has some advice for Ronda Rousey following UFC 207 loss

Ronda Rousey (12-2 MMA) made her highly anticipated return to the octagon in the main event of last night’s UFC 207 fight card in Las Vegas where she challenged current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes for the title she used to posses.

Unfortunately for fans of “Rowdy”, the fight didn’t go her way whatsoever, as she was overwhelmed by a barrage of early punches from “The Lioness” which led to a shocking 48-second TKO loss.

The setback marked Rousey’s second in a row and also served as her second career defeat. Ronda had suffered a shocking head kick knockout loss to Holly Holm in her most previous octagon appearance at UFC 193 in November of 2015.

Ronda has yet to issue a statement since suffering the quick loss to Amanda Nunes.

Many fellow fighters weighed in on Rousey’s shocking comeback loss shortly after it occurred at UFC 207. Ronda Rousey’s mother also issued a statement shortly following her daughters loss.

Today, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones took to Twitter where he offered Ronda some advice and added that Rousey he believed Rousey would be a champion for the rest of her life. Check it out:

Jones believes that Ronda can still beat 90% of the women’s bantamweight division and added that her next career move will truly determine her legacy.

Do you think we will see Ronda Rousey return to the octagon for another fight?

Sam Bradford to start at QB for the Vikings against the Packers

Sam Bradford to start at QB for the Vikings against the Packers

Former NFL #1 overall draft pick Sam Bradford will make his Minnesota Vikings debut in the teams home opener against long time rival the Green Bay Packers in this evening’s edition of Sunday Night Football.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer made the announcement earlier today.

The Vikings (1-0) earned a road victory over the Tennessee Titans last week. Shaun Hill was the Vikings quarterback in week 1 and played well enough to get the win. However, the Vikings staff obviously believe that Sam Bradford will help improve their odds of defeating the Packers in week 2’s edition of Sunday Night Football.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers (1-0) scored a road victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers played well under center and will need another stellar performance tonight if his team is to defeat a tough Vikings squad led by a nasty defense.

Oddsmakers currently have the Packers favored as a -3 point road favorite for Sunday Night Football.
