The New England Patriots traded away their third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for wide receiver Phillip Dorsett.

ESPN was first to report the deal.

Brissett went 1-1 during his two starts for New England last year, this while Tom Brady was out due to a suspension.

Jacoby threw for 400 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions during his game with the Patriots.

Meanwhile, the Patriots obtain the services of Phillip Dorsett, this after their star wide receiver Julian Edelman suffered a season-ending torn ACL two weeks ago in preseason.

Dorsett was on the receiving end of two Andrew Luck touchdown passes with the Colts last season.

The first round pick in 2015, Dorsett, has 51 receptions thus far in his two-year NFL career.

Terrible news for New England Patriots fans.

Star receiver Julian Edelman may have suffered a devastating knee injury during tonight’s preseason game against the Detroit Lions.

Check out the video below:

It is believed that Edelman may have suffered a torn ACL from the hit.

If that theory holds true, Julian could miss the entire 2017-2018 NFL season.

Tom Brady’s favorite target was instrumental in last year’s Super Bowl victory.

New England Patriots (2-0) current starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, suffered an injury earlier today in the teams 31-24 home victory over their division rival the Miami Dolphins (0-2).

The third-year player, Garoppolo, left the field in the games second quarter with a shoulder injury, this after helping his Patriots accumulate a healthy lead.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported after the game that Garoppolo suffered a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder, according to someone informed of the results of exams performed at the hospital today. Garoppolo’s chances of playing Thursday against the Texans are slim, per Garafolo.

Rookie quarterback and third-round draft pick Jacoby Brissett finished the game for the Patriots, while wide receiver Julian Edelman was labelled the offenses emergency quarterback.

The Patriots will welcome back Tom Brady in Week 5, but still have two games to endure possibly without the services of the aforementioned Garoppolo.

Denver tight-end Owen Daniels hauled in both of Manning’s touchdown passes and finished the game with 33 yards receiving.
