Minnesota Vikings clinch playoff berth!

The Minnesota Vikings (10-5) clinched a spot in this year’s NFL playoffs by crushing the New York Giants (6-9) 49-17 on Sunday Night Football.

Minnesota’s star running back Adrian Peterson posted another 100+ yards rushing game and added a touchdown in the blowout victory.

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater played well under center, completing 15 of 25 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings defense was at their nasty best on Sunday night. The squad intercepted Eli Manning on three separate occasions, one of which was returned for a touchdown score by safety Harrison Smith.

Minnesota will travel to Green Bay (10-5) this upcoming weekend with the NFC North title on the line.

The Vikings and Packers met earlier this season in Minnesota, with Green Bay winning handily by a final score of 30-13.

Green Bay is coming off a 38-8 blowout loss at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16.

UFC on FOX 17 took place tonight in Orlando, Florida.

In the evenings main event, UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos was able to successfully defend his title against #1 contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

The co-main event of the evening saw former Strikeforce title holder Alistair Overeem earn a second-round TKO victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos.

Also on the card was an intriguing lightweight scrap that saw former title challenger Nate Diaz earn a thrilling unanimous decision victory over #6 ranked Michael Johnson.

Cat Zingano to host UFC 193 at Kalapaki Joe’s!

Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano (9-1 MMA) will host UFC 193 at Kalapaki Joe’s Kukui Grove location this month.

“Alpha”, who was formally sponsored by Kalapaki Joe’s prior to the UFC’s deal with Reebok, has gone 2-1 in her UFC career, with her lone setback coming to division kingpin “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.

Cat Zingano became a household name when she defeated former Strikeforce title holder Miesha Tate via third-round TKO in her UFC debut in April of 2013.

The former UFC title challenger is currently waiting for her next assignment from UFC officials but will surely have a heavy interest in the UFC 193 main event, which features Ronda Rousey defending her title against undefeated fighter and former boxing champ Holly Holm.
