Seattle Seahawks extend win streak to four in a row!

The Seattle Seahawks (8-5) extended their current win streak to four games in a row by destroying the Ravens (4-9) by a final score of 35-6 yesterday afternoon in Baltimore.

Seattle’s defense appears to have returned to the form which saw them capture the Super Bowl just two years ago.

The Seahawks have given up a total of 13 points in their past two games against the Minnesota Vikings and aforementioned Baltimore Ravens, which has resulted in the squad becoming the NFL’s second-ranked overall defense.

Seattle’s star quarterback, Russell Wilson, threw five touchdown passes on Sunday afternoon, three of which went to wideout Doug Baldwin.

With their Week 14 victory over the Ravens, the Seahawks now find themselves in an NFC Wild Card spot.

The one piece of bad news for Seattle fans was that the team lost running back Thomas Rawls for the remainder of the season with a broken ankle.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll stated yesterday that there is still no timetable for the return of “Beastmode” aka Marshawn Lynch.

Seattle’s remaining three games will be played at home against the Cleveland Browns, St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals.

Seahawks edge Romo-less Cowboys!

The Seattle Seahawks (4-4) earned a hard fought victory over the Dallas Cowboys (2-5) yesterday afternoon in Texas.

It was not a pretty game by either team, but the Seahawks were able to get back to the .500 mark with a 13-12 win over the Cowboys.

Hawks QB Russell Wilson completed 19 of 30 pass attempts for 210 yards and a touchdown, while running back Marshawn Lynch carried the ball 21 times for a total of 71 yards on the ground.

The Seahawks defense were able to keep Matt Cassel and the Boys offense in check for most of the game, as Dallas gained just over 200 yards of total offense on Sunday afternoon.

While the win was huge and kept Seattle in the NFC playoff chase, there is no denying that the Seahawks are struggling on offense.

Seattle will have a bye week to try and correct matters before travelling to Arizona to battle the NFC West leading Cardinals in Week 10.

Kam Chancellor ends holdout, returns to Seahawks!‏

Kam Chancellor ends holdout, returns to Seahawks!‏

Great news for fans of the Seattle Seahawks!

Pro Bowl strong safety Kam Chancellor, who is the heart and soul of Seattle’s defense, has decided to end his holdout.

Kam returned to the team facility on Wednesday morning, which marked the first time since June’s minicamp that he had been spotted on scene.

Chancellor, who had been holding out in hopes of having his contract restructured, told ESPN’s Stephen Smith that he intends to revisit his contract situation after the conclusion of this season:

“Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren’t,” Chancellor stated in a text message to Smith. “God forgives all, why can’t I? Time to help us get back to the big dance. I can address business after this season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can’t let my Dawg down… Real talk.”

Chancellor had signed a four-year $28million extension after the 2012 season, but wanted more money after proving to be one of the league’s best defenders over the course of the last two seasons.

Without Chancellor in the lineup, the Seahawks D has looked like a shell of their former self, and the team has started 0-2.

Will the addition of Kam get the Seahawks back to the form which saw them win back-to-back NFC Championships? Time will tell…

Seahawks vs. Rams Preview

Seahawks vs. Rams Preview

By: Chris Taylor (Kalapaki Joe’s Staff Writer)

The defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks will start their 2015 campaign on the road against the St. Louis Rams this Sunday.

The Seahawks head in to the game as -4 point favorites, but the Rams are a tough team, especially when playing at home in St. Louis.

Seattle boasts an incredible offense, which is led by star quarterback Russell Wilson. The Seahawks also have “The Beast” Marshawn Lynch at running back and arguably the league’s best tight end in Jimmy Graham.

On defense, Seattle is one of the NFL’s best and most feared squads. They are led by the play of their secondary, which has been dubbed “The Legion of Doom”. However, a key member of that unit, Pro Bowl safety Kam Chancellor has decided to continue his holdout in to this year’s regular season and will not play Sunday against the Rams.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Rams will try and get over the hump this season and climb back in to one of the NFL’s coveted playoff spots.

The Rams have an excellent defense but they will have their hands full against the high-powered Seahawks offense this Sunday.

If St. Louis is to pull off the upset, they will need a strong performance from quarterback Nick Foles who is facing a crafty secondary in Seattle.

The former Eagles starter will have plenty of options to choose from tomorrow, including Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin and Brian Quick.

Unfortunately for Rams fans, rookie running back Todd Gurley is not completely healed from injury and will not be able to compete in tomorrow’s game.

This will be your typical hard hitting divisional game and there is no better way to kickoff week 1 of Sunday football.

I expect the Seahawks to pull off the win in a close battle by a final score of 13-9.
