DeSean Jackson is taking his talents to the NFC South.

The speedy veteran wide receiver recently signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jackson will join quarterback Jameis Winston and fellow standout receiver Mike Evans in Tampa Bay.

DeSean spent his last 3 season in Washington where he managed a total of 14 touchdown scores in 39 games played.

Jackson reached the 9-touchdown plateau twice as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and will look to resurrect his career with the Bucs.

Marcus Mariota dazzles in NFL debut!

Marcus Mariota dazzles in NFL debut!

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota had a spectacular NFL debut on Sunday in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers.

The 2014 Heisman trophy winner went 13 of 16 passing, for 209 yards and 4 touchdowns, outshining rival rookie quarterback Jameis Winston in the process.

Mariota’s performance marked the first time since 1961 (Fran Tarkenton) that a rookie QB had thrown for four or more TD passes in his NFL debut.

The Titans (1-0) defeated the Bucs (0-1) by a final score of 42-14 on Sunday afternoon and Mariota’s performance was the talk of the NFL.

Meanwhile, the #1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Jemies Winston, had a forgettable first NFL regular season game.

Winston threw an interception for a touchdown on his first pass of the game and added a second pick before the game was done.

In the end, Winston went 16 or 33 passing for 210 yards, 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles.

Mariota and the Titans head to Cleveland to face the Browns (0-1) in Week 2 of the NFL regular season.

Titans vs. Buccaneers Preview

Titans vs. Buccaneers Preview

The top two picks from the 2015 NFL Draft will faceoff this Sunday, as Marcus Mariota (#2) and the Tennessee Titans travel to Tampa Bay to take on Jameis Winston (#1) and the Bucs.

Mariota had the better preseason stats of the two, going 21 of 30 for 326 yards and a touchdown, with one interception.

Winston noticeably struggled at times during his preseason action, completing just 23 of 47 passes for 242 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

On paper, Jameis Winston appears to have more weapons at his disposal with the Bucs than Mariota does with the Titans.

Tampa Bay has two dynamic receivers in the form of Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans (if healthy), while Tennessee counters with wideouts Kendall Wright and Delanie Walker.

The Bucs also have a healthy Doug Martin at running back, which should go a long way in helping take some pressure off of their rookie QB.

Meanwhile, the Titans will likely showcase a couple of different running backs on Sunday in Tampa Bay. Tennessee has Bishop Sankey, Dexter McCluster and Terrance West to choose from in their backfield.

Although not classified as a “running quarterback”, Marcus Mariota and his legs will definitely be a concern for a Bucs defense who had serious struggles in 2014.

Tampa Bay’s pass defense was one of the worst in the NFL last season, but their secondary did show some improvement this preseason.

The Bucs have a terrific young linebacker in Kwon Alexander, look for him to do big this Sunday’s afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Titans will showcase their new Dick LeBeau defense on Sunday, which is sure to be full of complex blitz packages to try and confuse Winston.

Both teams will be looking to improve on their 2014 campaigns, as both the Titans and Bucs finished with records of 2-14 last season.

The winner of this game will likely be the team who makes the least mistakes. Because of this, I am taking Marcus Mariota and the Titans to win by a final score of 17-13.

Mariota and Winston set to faceoff in Week 1 of NFL season

Mariota and Winston set to faceoff in Week 1 of NFL season

The top two picks in the 2015 NFL Draft will share the field this Sunday, as Marcus Mariota (#2) and the Tennessee Titans travel to Tampa Bay to take on Jameis Winston (#1) and the Bucs.

The rookie quarterbacks both tried to downplay their upcoming game, but it is sure to be one of the most highly anticipated match-ups of Week 1.

“It’s like two horses at a racetrack,” Winston stated, “When the alpha sees another alpha they just – (horse noise) – and they go on about their business.”

The former Oregon Duck star QB, Mariota, says he is not focused on Winston as he won’t be on the field at the same time as the #1 overall pick:

“I don’t play defense, so I don’t play against Jameis.” Stated Mariota to reporters. “Obviously people will continue to make that debate, but you can’t focus on it.”

Mariota looked like the more polished quarterback during the preseason, earning a 102.9 passer rating. However, Winston has the potential and receivers to do some serious damage on the field this Sunday.

Who do you think leads their team to victory on Sunday?
