“No Love” took to Twitter posting the following about his upcoming title defense.

Garbrandt was last seen in action at December’s UFC 207 event where he dethroned Dominick Cruz via a lopsided unanimous decision victory to claim the UFC’s coveted bantamweight championship.

Meanwhile, former bantamweight title holder TJ Dillashaw has strung together two impressive victories, his latest being a drubbing of surging division contender John Lineker.

UFC 217 is headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Michael Bisping and former welterweight title holder Georges St-Pierre.

The world famous octagon will return to Chicago this weekend for UFC on FOX 16.

The twelve bout fight card is headlined by a bantamweight title fight rematch featuring current champ T.J. Dillashaw (11-2 MMA) taking on former title holder Renan Barao (33-2 MMA).

Dillashaw and Barao initially squared off at UFC 173 in May of 2014, where T.J. pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history by TKOing the longtime Brazilian champ in the fifth-round.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (20-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) returned to the octagon in emphatic fashion on Saturday night, this after a 3-year layoff from the sport due to injuries.

Cruz needed only 59 seconds to knockout the UFC’s #5 ranked featherweight, Takeya Mizugaki, in the main event of the UFC 178 prelims.

At the events post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White announced that “The Dominator” had earned the right to challenge current champ T.J. Dillashaw for the UFC bantamweight title, hardware that Cruz had never actually lost.

A date for the bantamweight title fight has yet to be determined.

Following his bonus-earning performance at UFC 178, Dominick Cruz used his time on the microphone to throw a jab at Dillashaw and the entire Team Alpha Male crew saying the following:

“I look forward to beating up more members of Team Alpha-Fail!”

I’m already super excited for this newly announced title fight. Who do you have winning KJ nation, Cruz or Dillashaw?
