DeSean Jackson is taking his talents to the NFC South.

The speedy veteran wide receiver recently signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jackson will join quarterback Jameis Winston and fellow standout receiver Mike Evans in Tampa Bay.

DeSean spent his last 3 season in Washington where he managed a total of 14 touchdown scores in 39 games played.

Jackson reached the 9-touchdown plateau twice as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and will look to resurrect his career with the Bucs.

Redskins at Giants Thursday Night Football Preview‏

Redskins at Giants Thursday Night Football Preview‏

By: Chris Taylor (Kalapaki Joes Staff Writer)

The Washington Redskins (1-1) will invade MetLife Stadium this evening to battle Eli Manning and the New York Giants (0-2) in Week 3’s edition of Thursday Night Football.

New York will be looking to earn their first win of the season tonight, although the squad could easily be 2-0 at this point.

The Giants blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead to the Atlanta Falcons last week (week 2), which followed a last-second loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

New York will need to stop the Redskins run-game if they hope to pull out a win over their division rival this evening in the “Big Apple”.

The Giants currently rank 3rd in the NFL in terms of rush defense, but they have yet to see an elite running back through the first 2  weeks of the season.

New York has struggled against the pass to start the 2015 season, giving up huge yards to both Tony Romo and Matt Ryan respectively.

On offense, the Giants will be looking for another big game from quarterback Eli Manning and second-year wide receiver Odell Bekham Jr.

The pair connected for 146 yards and one touchdown in last week’s loss to Atlanta.

Meanwhile, the Washington Redskins will be looking to build off their Week 2 win over the St. Louis Rams this evening in New York.

Washington was led by the play of rookie running back Matt Jones in last week’s win, as he collected 123 yards on 19 carries and scored 2 touchdowns.

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins also played well last Sunday, completing  23 of 27 passes for 203 yards and 1 tocuhdown.

Washington ranks first overall in total defense through 2 weeks, allowing just 469 total yards in 2 games.

The key for the Redskins to win this game will be executing in their run game.

If Washington has success on the ground, it should open up some opportunities through the air for Kirk Cousins and company.

Las Vegas currently has New York pegged as -4 point favorites with the over/under set at 43.5 points.

I predict that New York finally gets their first win of the season tonight, defeating Washington by a final score of 24-16.

RG3 will not be the Redskins starting QB in 2015!

RG3 will not be the Redskins starting QB in 2015!

RG3 will not be the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins in the 2015 NFL season.

Washington head coach Jay Gruden made the announcement earlier today stating that “Kirk Cousins has earned the right to be the starting quarterback in 2015.”

The moves comes as a bit of a surprise, as the Redskins staff had named Robert Griffin the teams starting pivot earlier this offseason.

Regardless, it is clear that Washington is moving forward with Cousins:

“Kirk has done an outstanding job,” said Gruden. “Robert has done some great things no question, we have total faith in all three QB’s. But moving forward, with all the things we’ve studied over the course of training camp and OTA’s, we just feel Kirk is the best man for the job.”

Jay Gruden insisted that naming Cousins the starter had nothing to do with RG3’s recent concussion and that Washington had no plans of dealing or cutting their former #1 pick (RG3).

The quarterback drama in Washington seems to have come to an end, this according to Redskins head coach Jay Gruden:

“Robert ended the season as our starter and we anticipate that going forward,” Gruden said at the NFL scouting combine on Wednesday. “He’ll be the No. 1 guy.”

Gruden cited the 2014 game film, which apparently looked quite a bit different now in February than it did in October and November of last year.

The change in Gruden’s attitude towards RG3 suggests that the decision was made from ‘above’.

Gruden used three different starting quarterbacks during the 2014 season, including Robert Griffin, Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy.

Washington fans will have to hope that RG3 can stay healthy, something he has had trouble doing in recent years.
