The injury bug has struck again!

This time it’s June’s UFC Fight Night 69 event headliner that has taken the hit.

UFC officials announced today that Alexander Gustaffson has been forced out of his scheduled main event bout with former title challenger Glover Teixeira.

No word yet if a replacement opponent will be sought for Teixeira to keep him on the card in Berlin.

UFC officials did not give any additional information regarding Gustafsson’s injury.

A strawweight title fight featuring current champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (9-0 MMA) taking on challenger Jessica Penne (12-2 MMA) will now headline the card.

Jedrzejczyk will make her first title defense since defeating inaugural strawweight champion Carla Esparza via second-round TKO at March’s UFC 185 event in Dallas. The 27-year-old Polish fighter has gone a perfect 9-0 in her young MMA career, which includes 4 stoppage wins to her credit.

Meanwhile, Jessica Penne was most recently seen in action at December’s TUF 20 Finale event, where she scored a hard-fought split-decision win over Randa Markos. Prior to her victory over Markos, Penne suffered a decision loss to Carla Esparza in the semifinal of Season 20 of “The Ultimate Fighter”.

UFC Fight Night 69 takes place June 20 live from the O2 World Berlin in Germany’s capital city. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass.

The Tennessee Titans used the #2 pick in this year’s NFL draft to select former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.

The dynamic Hawaiian stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 222 pounds.

The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner, Mariota, was thought to be coveted by former coach Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles, among other teams.

But in the end, Tennessee opted to keep the 21-year-old star for themselves.

Marcus Mariota put up unbelievable numbers with the Oregon Ducks last season, throwing for 4,454 yards and 42 touchdowns.

The Titans are hopeful that Mariota can find similar success with their receiving core, which includes Nate Washington, Justin Hunter and Kendall Wright.

A key welterweight bout featuring Rick Story taking on Erick Silva will headline June’s UFC Fight Night 70 event in Brazil.

Combate was first to announce the fight, though UFC officials have yet to make a formal announcement.

Rick “The Horror” Story (18-8 MMA) will be looking to extend his current win streak to three in a row when he faces off with Silva this summer. Story was last seen in action this past October, where he scored a split-decision victory over the previously undefeated Gunnar Nelson.

Meanwhile, Erick Silva (18-5 MMA) has also won back-to-back fights, his most recent effort being a first-round submission victory over Josh Koscheck. The win served as Silva’s second first-round submission finish in as many fights, as he had previously defeated Mike Rhodes via arm-triangle choke at December’s UFC Fight Night 58 event.

UFC Fight Night 70, which also features the “TUF: Brazil 4″ lightweight and bantamweight tournament finals, takes place June 27 live from Ginasio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo.
