Terrell Suggs will miss the remainder of the season!

Bad news for Baltimore Ravens fans.

Star linebacker Terrell Suggs suffered a torn Achilles in yesterday’s loss to Denver and will now miss the remainder of the 2015 NFL season.

Suggs was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game.

The 32-year-old was coming off a terrific 2014 season, which saw him collect 61 tackles and 12 sacks.

Baltimore is now forced to move forward without Suggs, who was the clear team leader on the defensive side of the ball.

The Ravens (0-1) will travel to Oakland (0-1) to battle the Raiders in Week 2 of the NFL season.

Dez Bryant out 4-6 weeks with a foot injury!

Dez Bryant out 4-6 weeks with a foot injury!

The Dallas Cowboys pulled off a dramatic come from behind win over division rival the New York Giants last night in Texas.

The victory did come at a steep cost however, as star wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a broken bone in his right foot which will require surgery.

The injury is expected to sideline Bryant for the next 4-6 weeks.

Dez finished yesterday’s game with 5 receptions for 48 yards on seven targets.

With Bryant out for the foreseeable future, the Cowboys and quarterback Tony Romo will ask for more from receivers Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley going forward.

Seahawks vs. Rams Preview

Seahawks vs. Rams Preview

By: Chris Taylor (Kalapaki Joe’s Staff Writer)

The defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks will start their 2015 campaign on the road against the St. Louis Rams this Sunday.

The Seahawks head in to the game as -4 point favorites, but the Rams are a tough team, especially when playing at home in St. Louis.

Seattle boasts an incredible offense, which is led by star quarterback Russell Wilson. The Seahawks also have “The Beast” Marshawn Lynch at running back and arguably the league’s best tight end in Jimmy Graham.

On defense, Seattle is one of the NFL’s best and most feared squads. They are led by the play of their secondary, which has been dubbed “The Legion of Doom”. However, a key member of that unit, Pro Bowl safety Kam Chancellor has decided to continue his holdout in to this year’s regular season and will not play Sunday against the Rams.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Rams will try and get over the hump this season and climb back in to one of the NFL’s coveted playoff spots.

The Rams have an excellent defense but they will have their hands full against the high-powered Seahawks offense this Sunday.

If St. Louis is to pull off the upset, they will need a strong performance from quarterback Nick Foles who is facing a crafty secondary in Seattle.

The former Eagles starter will have plenty of options to choose from tomorrow, including Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin and Brian Quick.

Unfortunately for Rams fans, rookie running back Todd Gurley is not completely healed from injury and will not be able to compete in tomorrow’s game.

This will be your typical hard hitting divisional game and there is no better way to kickoff week 1 of Sunday football.

I expect the Seahawks to pull off the win in a close battle by a final score of 13-9.

Titans vs. Buccaneers Preview

Titans vs. Buccaneers Preview

The top two picks from the 2015 NFL Draft will faceoff this Sunday, as Marcus Mariota (#2) and the Tennessee Titans travel to Tampa Bay to take on Jameis Winston (#1) and the Bucs.

Mariota had the better preseason stats of the two, going 21 of 30 for 326 yards and a touchdown, with one interception.

Winston noticeably struggled at times during his preseason action, completing just 23 of 47 passes for 242 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

On paper, Jameis Winston appears to have more weapons at his disposal with the Bucs than Mariota does with the Titans.

Tampa Bay has two dynamic receivers in the form of Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans (if healthy), while Tennessee counters with wideouts Kendall Wright and Delanie Walker.

The Bucs also have a healthy Doug Martin at running back, which should go a long way in helping take some pressure off of their rookie QB.

Meanwhile, the Titans will likely showcase a couple of different running backs on Sunday in Tampa Bay. Tennessee has Bishop Sankey, Dexter McCluster and Terrance West to choose from in their backfield.

Although not classified as a “running quarterback”, Marcus Mariota and his legs will definitely be a concern for a Bucs defense who had serious struggles in 2014.

Tampa Bay’s pass defense was one of the worst in the NFL last season, but their secondary did show some improvement this preseason.

The Bucs have a terrific young linebacker in Kwon Alexander, look for him to do big this Sunday’s afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Titans will showcase their new Dick LeBeau defense on Sunday, which is sure to be full of complex blitz packages to try and confuse Winston.

Both teams will be looking to improve on their 2014 campaigns, as both the Titans and Bucs finished with records of 2-14 last season.

The winner of this game will likely be the team who makes the least mistakes. Because of this, I am taking Marcus Mariota and the Titans to win by a final score of 17-13.
