Hawaii’s Marcus Mariota will have a large cast of NFL coaches and scouts attend his pro-day workout this Thursday.

However, Mariota’s draft stock may hinge on a day that falls later in the calendar year.

The former Oregon Ducks star quarterback will reportedly perform a private workout for the Tennessee Titans (who hold the number 2 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft) following this week’s pro-day, this according to FOX Sports.

Tennessee is in desperate need of a new franchise quarterback going forward.

The Titans had hoped that former first-round draft pick Jake Locker would be their man, but things just never worked out between the pair.

Locker is now expected to test the free agent market and the Titans are happy to move on and start anew.

Tennessee still has Zach Mettenberger at the quarterback position for 2015, but the organization would love to add the dynamic Mariota to their arsenal.

After 12 successful NFL seasons, the Houston Texans and Andre Johnson are parting ways.

Houston released Johnson on Monday afternoon, allowing Andre to sign with any team he sees fit come Tuesday’s free agency.

Andre Johnson ends his Texan’s career as the franchises greatest offensive player. In his 12-year career with Houston, Johnson collected 13,597 receiving yards to go along with 64 touchdowns.

Johnson’s numbers declined during the 2014 season, as he caught just 85 receptions for 936 yards and 3 touchdowns.

With that said, Johnson still offers value to any NFL team and should have no issues finding a new suitor for 2015.

Patriots will not pick-up Revis’ $20M option

Patriots will not pick-up Revis’ $20M option

The New England Patriots have opted against picking-up Darrelle Revis’ $20 million dollar option for the 2015 season.

NFL media insider Ian Rapoport reported the organizations decision yesterday afternoon.

The move leaves Revis free to speak with interested suitors come 3pm on March 10, 2015.

New England still plans to pursue the Pro Bowl corner, who helped lead their team to a Super Bowl Championship last season.

Look for Revis’ former team, the New York Jets, to also make a strong push for his services.

Revis had 47 tackles, 2 interceptions and 1 forced fumble last season with the Patriots.

Darrelle will have to decide what he values more, money or championships, as New York will surely offer him a larger salary but New England will give him the best chance to win.

Colts will not re-sign Reggie Wayne‏

Colts will not re-sign Reggie Wayne‏

The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they would not be re-signing veteran receiver Reggie Wayne.

The 36-year-old had spent his entire 14-year career with the Colts organization.

“When he first took the field with us in 2001, we knew this day would eventually arrive. That reality is one of the things that makes pro football such a tough business,” Colts owner Jim Irsay said Friday. “We feel this decision is in the best interests of the team and for Reggie as it will allow him to seek a better opportunity for playing time elsewhere if he so chooses.”

Wayne is the Colts franchise leader in regular-season games played (211) and wins (143). He also ranks second in receptions (1,070), receiving yards (14,345) and touchdowns (80).

Reggie’s numbers began to diminish in 2014, as he had just 64 receptions for 779 yards and 2 touchdown scores.

Wayne won a Super Bowl with the Colts alongside Peyton Manning in 2006.

The veteran receiver has said in the past that he can’t imagine playing for any other team but the Colts. However, he recently was quoted as saying he would consider playing for another ‘contender’ if the opportunity came about.
