The New York Jets have decided to part ways with veteran receiver Brandon Marshall.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport was first reported the news which was later confirmed by the organization who released Marshall on Friday.

The former Bear, Marshall, made his debut with the Jets where he recorded franchise-record-setting numbers in receptions (109) and receiving yards (1,503) and matched the team’s all-time mark in receiving touchdowns.

However, Marshall’s production dropped considerably in 2016 as he totalled just 788 yards and 3 touchdown scores.

The 32-year-old wide receiver was set to make $7.5 million in 2017.

In addition to Marshall, the Jets also released former NFL Defensive Player of the year and shutdown corner Darrelle Revis.

Both Marshall and Revis will receive a lot of interest from other teams as free agents.
